You are getting some days of posts about the local environment because we've been really hanging close to home for several days. One of the dogs has had some serious separation anxiety and that has complicated getting out of the house. Now that this is behind us, we'll soon be out and about a bit more.
Today I took Daphne on a walk up the hill we drive down to get here.
We are on a narrow track that makes a couple switchbacks on the way to the bottom. At the side of one of the hairpin turns we have this view.
To give you a notion of why this is such a glorious walk, here's a short video of the sounds of the place.
The olive trees are still laden with fruit in various stages of ripeness.
The reward of climbing the hill is when we get to the top...that is high enough that we can see in both directions... we get a grand view of the Mediterranean. The view is clearly worth the climb.
The walk is a 40 minute round trip from the house. On the way back down the hill, I stopped a few places to enjoy the view in the direction away from the sea.
Just the birds with an occasional cockerel call or two and the wind. There is never any traffic on these roads to disturb the peace. What a place to spend a portion of winter, eh?
