Mercado de Colón
The city of Valencia has some really amazing art-deco buildings. The one above is an excellent example of this style.
But not every handsome building is art-deco or highly ornamented. Sometimes they are just clean and handsome.
Across the street from the Mercado de Colón is the Basílica San Vicente Ferrer. It seems to be mostly closed except for services, but we may try to visit. We'll see.
But the market itself is a delightful space filled with restaurants and food vendors. It was built between 1914 and 1916 and has been declared a national monument.
These Valencians really have a knack for building impressive places. We stopped here to eat at a place with some good tapas. Oh, yeah, there was also a pretty good Sangria as well.
