Prairie Grove
A trip to the nearby town of Prairie Grove, AR took us to a couple of memorable antique and up-cycle stores. I found a few items here worth photographing. The theme for today is color and texture. Notice also that the photo above is a near self-portrait. There is something deep in here about me being just at the edge of the frame where you know I'm there but still not quite seen. Rest assured it was unintentional.
A popular sort of item in these stores today are funky lamps with old-style filaments in the bulbs. Having a bulb resting on an old tractor wheel is curiously satisfying, just from the symmetry, I think.
Some of these sorts of things include pressure and vacuum gauges and valves in them. Those are just plain weird. But, if you could add a dimmer switch to the plumbing and have the pressure valves change as you adjust the flow of current, not that would be cool, right?
You can see that this light is in a metal frame with a glass top. I think it is intended to be a table of some sort. Or maybe the glass is there to confuse the bugs attracted by the light.
This vignette in the corner of the room just seemed to be staged for a photographer to take portraits. Or perhaps interrogations.
This box of old beer bottles near the front door adds a nice splash of color to an otherwise uninteresting scene.
