Rawlins WY to Boise ID

We awoke to a cold morning. Snow still on the ground but none now coming from above. Progress.

So cold in fact, the de-icer we bought at Walmart the night before was doing us no good. Since it hadn't been pumped through the system enough to clear out the plain water, it was all frozen. Moreover, so was the lock on the back of the truck. This meant we could not get our suitcases back in the truck. So I went back inside and got a couple cups of hot water from the coffee bar and immersed the lock for a while. Once thawed and removed, I immersed it in the de-icer for a spell to replace the water which would freeze again with something that might not.

The day cleared a bit and slowly began to warm. The roads were clear and dry and we were happily on our way.

Lot of mountains and clouds as we headed past the Wasatch mountains and turned north towards Boise.

We've come down from the high plains and reached a warmer drier area. The mountains here are really impressive.

I know that in the winter here, it is cold and snowy a lot and these mountains are often not seen. Nevertheless, these are place we will certainly come back to visit and spend a little time. Perhaps in warmer weather than winter.
