In the village of Icklesham, we found a small church that was interesting. although we could not get inside to have a look about, we did find a cemetery and church yard that was worth a look.
The church is on the edge of a paddock complete with a set of steps to allow one to enter.
It appears to have a good selection of stained glass that you really cannot see. The cemetery has stones from a range of dates that tells us that it has been here a while and still quite active.
In one corner, we found a cross playing peek-a-boo with the stone markers.
One of the several entrances to the church has a door that has certainly been here for several hundred years.
It appears that Frank Simmons went to his final reward in 1858.
All in all, it is a nice little parish church. I say it is worth a visit if Icklesham is on the way to somewhere.
