Church of St. Maria Rotunda - II

There are plenty of beautiful paintings and statues here. When surrounded by finely crafted arts, it is easy to imagine someone feeling the presence of the "holy spirit" as they sat and meditated.

I like the contrast of the while walls and the paintings and marble.

This contrast persists, no matter where you look.

Even to the ceiling. Here, the relatively small patches of color are a real accent on the figured white background.

While I'm quite sure that the ceiling painting tell a story of Christ or creation or some such thing, it is so far away from the floor that it is hard to see just what is happening.

The symmetry of a church is always a pleasant thing to view. This one is no exception.

We end this visit with a closer look at the pulpit. It is a thing of beauty.
