We are surrounded by the encroachment of chaos and no time is more naturally chaotic than spring. If you think about it, many of the jobs we've created are simply to hold this chaos at bay...landscaping, dam and jetty building, even home building.
Yet, we enjoy this flurry of growth in controlled or at least contained. Even in a patch of weeds at the side of the road we can find small sections of symmetry bringing a smile to our faces.
And these ubiquitous evergreens here are most spectacular sometimes in the presentation of new growth. It is slightly embarrassing, however. This is the sexy bits of the tree and you can see on the needles just below the cone production area that pollen has fallen out everywhere. You'd think a little discretion would be in order here. After all, children can see this as they walk by!
