Trinity Bay Lookout

This part of Australia is called the wet tropics. As you can see, the clouds forms over the hills near shore and the flora is tropical and lush. This location is pretty much what most people think of as paradise...warm, lush, on the water. Pushing all the right buttons.

You may have noticed that none of the beach photos in the last few posts have people on the beach. There is a reason for that. January is in the middle of stinger season in the far north Queensland.

If you look over the roof the house near us you will see a section of the beach protected and full of swimmers. This is to protect folks from the jellyfish and other like-minded marine animals. This is why that one small area is full of people and the rest is empty.
