A Few Vistas

According to the all-knowing GPS in the car, the large flat area just south of the Snohomish River is very near sea level. We live on a hill at the glorious altitude of about 115 ft.

But out in the flats are barns, more of which you'll see later, and some interesting vistas of the Cascades to the east.

Not far from the barn above, is a section of what I think may be the Pilchuck rivers before it flows into the Snohomish and the mountains beyond. This panorama gives a flavor of the what the vistas around here are on a clear day.

On the south side of the valley, we start to climb a hill and from a slightly higher elevation, we can see back across the plain and get a much better perspective on the Cascades.

From here we again see the Trumpeter Swans resting and feeding in the fields.

Just a mile or so north of Snohomish we cross Bunk Foss creek and it labeled as a salmon run stream. This leads to the curious sign found alongside the road.
