Boot Hill

Unsurprisingly, Coober Pedy has a Boot Hill cemetery. It also has a pretty cool sign indicating the way.

The cemetery is located on the edge of town and is surrounded by the empty landscape and conical dirt piles so common here.

Unlike the Greek Orthodox Cemetery, the people here have more money and imagination. Helmut apparently did not want anyone or anything disturbing his rest. That lid is really bolted down.

This fellow was clearly a digger and seems to framed the opening to suggest his role in life.

There are also a few arabs buried here.

This fellow has a sense of humor that he wanted to share eternally.

As we saw in the Orthodox cemetery, here's one where the simple wooden cross has been replaced. Not everyone has money for an all metal grave cover or a keg for friends.
