Stormy Evening Leaving Port
We got loaded onto the ferry and from the deck we could look back toward Melbourne and see the storm coming at us.
The complicated clouds at sunset make a beautiful scene over Port Melbourne. Near the center of the image you can see the rain squall dumping water on a small section of the city.
As we moved away from port, and it got later and darker, the clouds also thickened and the sky took on some interesting colors.
Here the clouds are taking on some really amazing colors and shapes. while giving the water an interesting green color.
The odd bit of color and cloud like a smudge in the center is a exhaust from the ship settling to the sea.
From the other side of the ship we see the sun setting in the west.
Back on the port side of the ship, we see the city and clouds coloring with the evening sun and the water has a magical quality.
A container ship came past us on the way to port.
And it headed on into port and the storm that was brewing.
The storm was purely shore phenomenon and we had a pleasant ride overnight to Devonport, Tasmania.
