Our day in Melbourne was Thanksgiving in the US (give or take a day, this time zone thing is still a bother). I just wanted you to see how we spent the time you North Americans were huddled around your turkey to stay warm.
Beaches aren't crowded yet since summer is not yet here in it's full intensity. But it is warm enough for us old farts to sit it at a bar, by the beach, watching all the young folks enjoying the surf and sand while we have a glass of cider.
