Victor Harbor
After our restful evening at the motel walking distance from the beach, we went down to the shore for walk about in the morning. We have now gone from the Timor Sea to the Southern Ocean. Easy drive...everyone should do it.
This calm morning shows what a delightful place this is. Protected from the open sea enough to limit the wave action to the minimum (at least on good days).
Just off-shore is Granite Island. This is a place for tourists and fishermen.
Like other oceanside communities, there is a foreshore park making a nice place to enjoy an outing.
Granite Island is connected to the mainland with a causeway. In addition to walking, one can also ride a horse drawn carriage across for a tour.
On the other side of the Island causeway, there is another expanse of beach to enjoy. All in all a wonderful place.
Victor Harbor itself is a neat little town filled with shops and eateries galore. Near the beach are lots of places catering to tourists. In a small park near the causeway preparations were underway for a market of some sort and the town began to move into summer time mode.
