Simpson Gap
The next stop on our coach tour was Simpson Gap. Here we see the Black Footed Rock Wallaby staring at me in an effort to intimidate me.
The gap itself is a shady and cool place this time of morning. By midday, of course, it gets hot like everywhere else. For how, however, we are enjoying the little bit of water and the steep colorful rocks.
It is easy to see how a peaceful place like this would attract people for reasons well beyond the desire for water to drink.
At the moment, the water is not flowing here, it only pools of water remaining from recent rains. You can see that the river bed is currently dry.
And lest you think there are pools of water everywhere, the river bed really is dry.
