This cathedral is certainly a big place. Looking along the ceiling, it seems to recede into the distance without end.
Every once in a while we come upon a reminder of a significant piece of British history. This fellow, Colonel Sir Henry Walton Ellis, died at Waterloo.
surrounded by saints, angels, and bishops at various levels, the baptismal font is quite an ornate piece of work.
This aisle along the nave really displays the complex support system for the the stone ceiling.
There is also a cloister here. There is a great enclosed hallway that forms a square around an open air garden.
Below you can see the garden and the exterior of the church through one of the windows.
