Ambleside

Most of the photos one sees from the Lake District are taken on moody days with dramatic clouds or at sunrise or sunset to provide fog or some other scene enhancing atmospheric addition. On our visit, we did not get up early or hang around on location until after dark. And we were blessed (?) by clear blue skies.

But do love me some reflections in a completely still pond.

So. Your job today is to imagine that all these scenes are draped in a luscious layer of fog that delicately edits out the complications and leaves you, the observer, with a subtle, artsy image.

But even if your imagination is stumbling on the fact that you can see all the trees and the blue sky overhead, the reflections still make an interesting composition.

You might argue that there should be a duck or some fauna floating about to draw your eye. Sorry, I could not pack my duck to provide you with this addition. TSA gave me lots of grief that last time I tried that.

In the village of Ambleside, there are several older buildings that reflect its origins that I found kinda fun.

These places live on tourism and you can see that in the sorts of stores there on the streets.
