There are many metal fences in town, standing alongside the dominant white wooden fences. All degrade with time in the rain and epiphyte attacks, but the metal ones seem to do it with grace and dignity.
For example, this section of a wooden fence also has a few bird houses painted in pastel colors. As the moss and lichens encroach, the paints degrade and soon it all looking pretty sad. Quite unlike the metal ornamentation above.
Mother nature, has them all beat with her melding of chaos and order to produce repeating patterns that are all different.
One of the fences that I've photographed before for the blog continues to shine as an example of the slow, graceful decay of a wrought metal work. I always like the juxtaposition of the bluish metal with the greens and reds of the organic material on and behind the fence.
Finally, to your endless relief no doubt, I'm changing venue and will be bringing you some images from some place with lots of sun. I'll let the location be a surprise.
