As the sun breeches the crest of Haleakala, morning comes to our section of the shore line. With only a small bit of investigation, I find a sailboat that has been grounded on the beach in a recent storm. Just can't be good news for the sailor/owner of that boat.
The wind is quite calm and the waves are tiny. Yet, with in ½ a mile of here are folks out trying to catch a wave to ride towards shore.
Looking north along the beach, we see the clouds covering the mountains (extinct volcano) there.
