The Kealia Pond is a nice wetland area in which to spy a few of the local birds. The most numerous here now and the most engaging are the Hawaiian Stilt. It is a subspecies of the black-necked stilt.
At this time of year, there is lots of strum und drang about territory and mates leading to much commotion on the water.
Pretty pugilistic crowd.
But there are other birds around. I'm not at all sure what these little guys are, but they tend to move in a flock and stay in the shallowest water to feed.
