As the day progressed and the sun rose higher, the fog gave way to some clear skies and we could see a few of the snowy mountain peaks on a drive back west toward home.
The winter weather report here often give the snow report in terms of the altitude where the transition between rain and snow will occur. You can see that these peaks have spent some time above that transition point. It is always fascinating to see how much snow sticks to the near vertical surfaces of these craggy peaks.
