Leaves after the Rain

Rest assured that we are near the end of leaves-on-the-ground season. Today I thought I'd show a few that were doing a nice job of showing off beds of water between squalls.

Nice bright green grass contrasts with the autumn colors of the fallen leaves. But the water drops makes it interesting.

I find it curious how hydrophobic the underside of a leaf is. it really makes the water drops stand up and catch the light.

And the beads of water on the shadow side of the leaf can sometimes catch the light and refract it along the leaf surface in the shade to give an unusual effect.
