Let's start with an overview to set the scale of the construction done here.
The construction is intricate and detailed. Round kivas are scattered throughout the site. It all sits on the broad flat floor of a sandy-bottomed canyon that frames everything.
Stone and timber were used to produce a place that must have been home to thousands of people. And these people traded far and wide. Items from as far away as central america have been found here. The site at Aztec you saw earlier is an offshoot of this place and part of the same culture.
And the great kiva is indeed great. This thing is huge. I'll bet that with the wooden roof present it was a truly impressive and awe inspiring place.
