On a Bright Afternoon

Occasionally, I feel it necessary to show you that it is not all gloom and rain here in the northwest. Every once in a while, we actually get some sunshine.

And this bit of sun perks up every scene. This moss in a tree more closely resembles a forest in miniature with the splash of sunlight across it.

In the low-angle afternoon sun, this railroad spike casts its shadow. It is not that I was out walking the tracks but that there are sections of old tracks left along the Centennial Trail which used to be the rail line through town. So, these are long disused, short sections of tracks.

Even the bare limb of a lichen covered tree seems cheerier in the sunshine.

We always have the cheerful crocus to put a smile on our face.
