Sunrise over the Cascades

As many of our dead readers know, one of our jobs while at home is to take the grandchildren to daycare in the mornings. In the winter, which we have mostly avoided until this year for some reason, it is a dreary business. It is dark and the sky is overcast. On this day, we were running a bit later and the sun was just coming up.

I pulled over in a small space at the roadside and grabbed a few shots with my phone. While such a morning display is not rare, I'd say it is certainly infrequent. Lots of locals (who else would be on these roads at this time of day?) were pulling over to snap a few as well.

These are the sorts of images that are often used to push the button of the flat earth nutballs. Not only are the clouds illuminated from below, we are also getting shadows on the clouds from the mountains. Both are things that could not happen on a flat earth. So there!

Regardless, it was a beautiful morning. Enjoy.
