Out by the sea we find an Heron resting on a limb. Between the red berries and the particolored lichens on the dead tree, the bird almost feels like an afterthought.
Meanwhile, on the water is a female Bufflehead acting all serene and calm.
From a higher perch the seagull court hold vigil over it all to see if there's anything to scavenge.
On the way back, we stopped by this field to see a few Tundra Swans and the odd Mallard.
Well maybe two odd ducks. I suppose there is security in numbers. Especially when the numbers are several times your size.
