This cemetery has its share of the unique gravestones. This one shaped like a tree is complete with ferns at the bottom.
Mary Blazell here, has been a resident for over a hundred years and I'm sure she knows these people and their stories quite well. She came shortly after Dungeness was settled and died a year before Sequim as founded.
Among the stories she's witnessed the final chapter of is that of Jeremy Joseph. He died in car crash much too early.
But to add to the pain, his brother Jeffrey Jacob died of cancer two years later. Lots of pain in the Columbus family. Yes, I'm sure Mary Balzell has seen it all.
