Possession Point State Park

About the only thing to do at the beach was to notice that we could see prominent mountains from here. Looking back toward Mukilteo, we can see what I'm pretty sure is Glacier Peak in the distance. It is the one with snow still on the top. It is the most isolated stratovolcano in Washington and one of (if not the) most active. Calm down, this is judged based on past performance not current activity.

Interestingly, from this beach we can see two other large stratovolcanoes, Mount Baker to the north (almost in Canada), and Mount Rainier to the south.

Unsurprisingly, we did see a naval vessel cruise through the straight. There are naval bases all over the place out here, including Whidbey Island.

While I could only see a portion of Mount Baker around the headland looking north, we could see all of the top of Mount Rainier to the south. So here's that view. I think the posts at the boat launch really add to this view, don't you?
