Whidbey Island

We are now making regular visits (every two weeks) to Whidbey Island. The massage therapist I frequented in Staunton lives there and she has closed up shop on Staunton and opened up in much nicer digs there. While it is hoof to get there and we have to pay for the ferry, it is still fun to see a new place and get a good massage.

We visited the garden shop from the previous visit to make and exchange on an item we purchased, so I took a few minutes to photograph some of the more interesting plants and flowers.

One of the more spectacular tables is filled with blooming orchids.

there was another table with some sort of bromeliads (or some such thing) that produced flowers that looked straight upwards.

One of the more unusual plants wis this technicolored fellow with leaves that are corkscrew shaped. Never seen that before.

There is of course a whole section of decorative cabbage.

Even though I could find no way to avoid the grating of the table underneath, I really liked this image of another one of the bromeliads.
