Stones and Color

At some point, someone placed these stones on the log. Perhaps they thought they looked pretty or perhaps it was a child that just wanted to collect rocks. In either case, I find that they add a little interest and color to the scene.

Driftwood Galore

My local travels took me back out to Whidbey Island so I stopped by Possession Point State Park to have a look about. There was a bit of sun so I decide to investigate the huge amount of driftwood along the shore.

Possession Point State Park

About the only thing to do at the beach was to notice that we could see prominent mountains from here. Looking back toward Mukilteo, we can see what I'm pretty sure is Glacier Peak in the distance. It is the one with snow still on the top. It is the most isolated stratovolcano in Washington and one of (if not the) most active. Calm down, this is judged based on past performance not current activity.

OMG! We Found a Heron


We took a few minutes to visit Possession Point State Park for a look about. I was not expected to see much since we arrived at the middle of the day under a cloudless sky. Much to my surprise was a heron basking in the sunshine.
