Welcome to Perth
We've arrived in a tiny settlement just outside a small town not far from Perth. We are surrounded by farmland. Right now, very muddy farmland. After Ciara passed through, things are pretty well soggy. These images were made in a break in the weather on the eve of the arrival of Dennis.
We drove out to a nearby Castle and guess what...it was closed! Everything is closed in winter. But the lone tree with the tire (tyre?) swing hanging from it was just outside the castle grounds. As is the beehive-shaped dovecote nearby. As you can see below, the small stream in front of the building is brown with mud being washed towards the sea at a prodigious rate. Even the grass here and in the yard of our house is very 'squishy'. I now have a better understanding of why people in the UK so often wear Wellingtons.
