More Reminders of 1956

My notes are not complete by this point in the tour... getting tired and hot. But I believe that this is a now some sort of community center. It was clearly once a high school since it says this up at the top. However a high school in Hungary is probably not the same as one in the US. Could have once been part of the Obuda University with is not in the yellow building to the left.

On down the street we can look back and see that the building across the street is still in a sad shape.

If we turn to look directly at the building, we can see the scars of bullets fired in 1956 during the revolution. Nothing significant has happened to this building since that fateful time.

But along this street are places that must have once been really wonderful. Now, I'm quite sure they are dismal places to live. And, indeed, people live here now with limited electricity, no air conditioning, and likely little heat.
