Near the Rákóczi Market Hall is this wonderful doorway. This restored building clearly has some beautiful details that have been restored.
But nearby, this place that has not been restored is in really bad shape. Yet, there is still an elegance to this place. It is easy to stand across the street and see that glory that it once had. Perhaps one day soon it, too, will recover a modern version of its former life.
In this district there also murals to be seen. This one, I believe, decorates a wall at a kindergarten playground.
We stopped in a fascinating place for a bottle of water. This place is a hangout for the local liberals and the LGBTQ community. Upstairs are offices of several NGO's, a LGBTQ organization, and several other organizations that are at odds with the federal government. The district government is, however, fine with there presence so they feel safe posting their presence here.
This building is just amazing. With a little imagination, you can see it as it once was and marvel at a structure with bay windows at the corners and along each side. I have no idea what the inside is like, but it certainly an elegant lady.
