Before taking you inside to see a little of this huge building, here are a few (more) shots of the exterior.

The designers really went full steam ahead on the details of this building. There is no part that is not ornamented.

On the side opposite the square is a road along the Danube with Buda on the far shore.

This building is one of the two tallest buildings in the city. The other one is St. Stephen's Basilica. Both are built to the same height. Apparently, no building is allowed to be taller than these.

The soldiers walk their appointed ceremonial rounds by the reflecting pool.

The light breeze disturbs the water surface in the reflecting pool. This give the place a bit of motion and life even on a cloudy day.
