Ethnographic Museum - 2

This lavishly carved and painted Sicilian cart was acquired by the museum in 1848. The same type of cart is still found in Sicily today in parades, wedding and other festivities.

This, my friends, is not what it appears to be. Or should I say "bee". This is a beehive. Apparently this is not all that uncommon in some parts of central and eastern Europe.

There are also collections of more domestic things. These pipes and flasks are nicely decorated and display the sort of folk art found in Hungary.

This display of items, with its small shelves, looks as if the items are all just floating in the air.

In another gallery is a collection of photos. This one really caught my eye.

As you can see, it was just one of many on display.
