The main portion of the pioneer cemetery in Jackson has many monuments and fenced sections. The trees here are mature and the space is well shaded.
There are instances of the common Victorian symbolism of the draped stones. This particular fellow was a Mason and had enough money to erect this stone.
And, as in other such cemeteries we seen around the world, there are clear signs of disease taking multiple lives in the same family.
