Along the Snohomish River
Between Everett and Marysville, along I-5, you cross over the Snohomish river delta. This area is filled with industries and surrounded by noisy road. Yet, out in the middle of this is the Langus Riverfront Park. A spot of calmness in the middle of the bustling roads.
This park seems to be primarily a place for fishermen to launch boats into the river. There are nice new boat launches and walkways along the water for the sportsmen. On the far side, however, remnants of piers and docks.
The pylons have been in the water for ages and are well soaked. The warm weather we've been having has produced green posts even though the shore behind is still all brown from the winter's cold.
Next to the boat launch site, is the collection of pylons cabled together to provide what I assume is a protection of the area from things drifting down the river. At this location there are lots of swirls and eddies indicating that the river is moving swiftly.
Here, you can see the eddies in the river, even well out from the bank, suggesting some submerged debris or rock that disturbs the surface.
There are picnic table here but the noise does not make a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal. I did find a fellow sitting at a table reading his newspaper. I suppose the noise is not a bother to everyone.
