Not far from the road, we found some birds wandering, looking for food. the first one here is a western snipe.
Framed by a snipe in the background, we have an american golden plover.
These birds get their name from the golden color in among the black and white on their backs.
It is fun to catch them among the colorful rocks for a composition that shows more than just the bird.
The colors of the snipe blend well with the surroundings. It is easy to see why he is colored the way he is.
The plovers will periodically stop and just stare at you as if there were something they want to say.
In case you haven't noticed, this plover has only one leg. That's some good balance he's got there!
Having found me in the distance, I'm getting the stink-eye again.
