St. Thomas the Martyr

In front of the church, where the nave once stood, is now a churchyard filled with gravestones.

There are indeed some interesting markers in this cemetery. Some old, such as this one....

...and some fairly recent. This one is famous since it marks the final resting place of the Irish actor, comedian, writer, musician, poet, and playwrightTerence Alan "SpikeMilligan, KBE. At his request, his tombstone says "I told you I was Ill". Although compromise was forced by the Chichester diocese by their refusal to have that in English and it says this in Gaelic. In English, it says "Love, Light, and Peace".

The interior of what remains of the church is, as expected a combination of the old and the more recent. It is quite beautiful.

As you can see from the size of the memorials, there are several significant burials inside.
