After our evening of dinner theater, we decided it was too early to call it a night, so we headed down to Fremont to see the older part of the strip. this is also the crazy part.
Filled with hotels and casinos that are a bit long in the tooth and a somewhat different clientele (as you will see). The entertainment is also much more in your face.
The clever thing is that clearly the city father realized that this collection of not doing great casinos could all do better if we turn the street into a pedestrian mall and put a roof over it that we can show videos on. In effect, it has turned all of Fremont Street into one large casino with lots of live entertainment.
If you look closely, you can just make out a set of parallel lines overhead running the length of the street. This, we learned are zip lines for people to soar over the crowd, sometimes horizontally in a superman pose and sometimes in a sitting orientation.
But (no pun intended), as you can see not all the action was over our heads. In the circles in the pavement, these street performers are allowed to be and ply their trade. In this case, the trade is to pay to get you photo made with the young lady.
As you can see, scantily clad is the name of the game here.
Yet, there are also guys out for collection a few buck. This fellow is, in my opinion, certifiable.
My apologies for the blurry photo, but this fellow didn't want to see the omen having all the fun with photos, so he jumped right.
If you're in to (pretending) S&M, you can get your photo made with this two "policewomen".
To clarify the situation, there were several live bands playing as we walked along the street. One was Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band. They were quite good.
I will end on this note. I don't know what note it is, but this is the end of Fremont Street (for me).
