The Luxor

If you keep walking long enough through Mandalay Bay, you will eventually find yourself in the Luxor. This place is built to resemble a pyramid from the outside and contains lots of faux Egyptian decorations inside. Above is a shot looking up toward the peak of the pyramid. The long horizontal "bars" on either side are the hallways for accessing the rooms in the hotel that is formed by the sides of the pyramid.

There are, of course, Sphinxes scattered about for your amusement.

The escalator down to the front lobby of the hotel is a place where you can see the hotel along the sides.

Near the front entrance, are reproductions of things that might have once been seen at the real Luxor. I am more inclined to believe that this what people in Vegas thing people expect to see, not anything real.

Even though this are obviously fake when you stand nearby, they are reasonably well done. The scale alone is enough to impress.

Imagine making reproductions of the stuff in the British Museum and putting it in a building dedicated to removing as much of your money as possible in the desert. That is what this is like. Sort of.
