Zoo Part VII
The Hippopotamuses were busy getting in and out of the water. Most likely out of boredom.
Meanwhile the giraffe was strinding about looking all proud.
The lion was no doubt just waiting to fed again.
This monkey that I don't know was perched on a limb just taking it all in.
One of my favorite images from the day was this one of two warthogs. the colors and their pose with the tusks showing at each end brings a symmetry and texture to the image that I really like.
Near the exit is the display of the Humboldt Penguins. They'd been fed and exercised and were resting.
This fellow seems content to pose for me in spite of the dash of poo on his lower belly.
I'm overall pretty pleased with this camera/lens combination. It has its warts as they all do (at least all the ones I can afford). But in the better light the focus hits were pretty high, I don't think I had as many times where there just was no focus to be found as is the case with the Nikon. That is always the very frustrating part.
I feel pretty good about taking this camera and lens on a real outing where the animal are not captive and I really only get one chance to photograph it. A few more tests to do and I'll be set.
