The Venetian

If the entrance of the Bellagio was over the top, the Venetian is over the moon. This fellow was playing his guitar at the entrance and welcoming everyone (too bad WalMart doesn't have greeters like this!) and we stop to ask for directions.

We came here for a bite of breakfast at a mexican restaurant that got great reviews and it was indeed very good. Along the way we passed Zoltar passing out futures for a fee, naturally.

But you know you are in a place that has spared no expense when you reach the canals and street scenes from Venice complete with the ceiling painted to resemble the open sky.

Unlike the real Venice, this place was not under water.

This is the Las Vegas version of a shopping mall. I finally did find a bench and had to take a picture of it.

The opulence extends in all directions and in all forms.

We finally stopped for a bite of gelato and found this person on a platform posing as a statue.

While we rested our tired dogs, the statue was replaced with a troupe of performers that included a man on stilts. Others provided a little taste of Italian opera for the amusement of all.
