Vaughan Cemetery
This cemetery is an interesting place, nestled on the side of a hill and the bottom lands next to a stream. Here we find this marker with the text engraved on it in two different directions. I don't think I've seen this before.
Other stones are slowly subsiding in the soft soil.
And some are erect as ever proclaiming the long lives of those beneath.
For reasons that are unclear, an artist donated this door to the cemetery. Something about this reminds me Dr. Who. This art installation is simply on the hill as if it might be another grave stone. This gives it a very strange appearance.
So many graves are unmarked in this cemetery that there is a marker for the unmarked.
This is a cemetery still in use. Although I have only photographed the older ones because they are more interesting, one of the new ones I didn't photograph had a great inscription: The song has ended but the melody lingers. All the markers in this place reinforce this opinion.
