Kettering Cemetery

In Kettering, where the ferry connects the mainland to Bruny Island, we found another cemetery. While most of this one was pretty new, there were some older stones to be seen.

This is a nice marker that seems to be made of sandstone (?) with a moulded (sculpted) cover/frame on it. I'm not at all sure that this description is accurate. Perhaps it is all one piece of stone and the top is carved from it.

George Jackson's grave stone is very beautifully colored and is clearly a single stone.

The details on this stone are very nice.

Here is a close up of the red, yellow, and green lichen/moss that is growing on the cross section of the stone.

This white cross seems simply to have been painted. Whatever the source of color, it is a nice addition to the cemetery.
