The ship we ride in a pretty complete rebuild of the original. While some parts of the original remain, the hull, superstructure and steam engine are all new.
It glides steadily down the lake and slowly passes these hills, looking much, I would guess, as they did 100 years ago.
The shores are not without change, however. Here, we see a section have been logged recently.
The captain sits in his shaded seat and guides us up and down the lake with a sure hand.
The young man who tended the engine, treated the ship an old friend and was careful to keep everything wiped, oiled, and doing what it is supposed to do.
A great day on board. It is one of the things you should do when you visit the Lake Country.
