I really love the contrast of the golden leaves and the dark bark of the aspens this time of year (November). It brings a new life to the otherwise mostly monochrome hills.
The Jemez river winds it way out the mountains that form the rim of the volcano crater. Below, we see one of the small bridges that cross this stream.
In the afternoon sun sneaking past the foreboding clouds, we get a dramatic view of the hills on the other side of the river.
The clouds and dark, distant hills frame the nearer territory very nicely.
