Sunrise in Douglas, Isle of Man
Our nest house sit on the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea. While we wait for our sit to begin, we are staying a few days in a hotel on the Loch Promenade. On our first morning, we got a glorious sunrise.
Not only do we get to stay in a hotel where we can see such things, we are here in the winter when it happens at sensible time of day so us old folks can see it.
Just right of center is a low island that is occasionally coved and occasionally completely uncovered by water and can be walked to. This feature is called St. Mary's Isle and the building on it is the Tower of Refuge (see Wikipedia for details). Since this low-lying rock is a hazard to ships (it is near the ferry mooring), this building is here for stranded sailors to take refuge in while waiting for rescue.
