Douglas Borough Cemetery
We found the Douglas Borough Cemetery just on the northern side of town when a funeral was in progress in the chapel. We drove around, out of their way and had a brief look about.
There is some interesting cemetery art here. This angel seen against a backdrop of the cloudy sky and the chapel is a good representative.
This woman with here prayer beads and devotional gaze is another.
I found a view of another angel compounds the imagery of a mourning angel with the ending of the day.
From a different angle, this statue is not quite so triumphant as she seems above, but rather we see her look of sorry at the passing of the one below.
This fellow I found to have an interesting memorial on his stone. Perhaps we should all aspire to have it said of us that we were likable.
And I'll end here with Cecil. He was a young fiddler that was well loved by his family.
