The Bridges of Ronda
The main bridge across the gorge, call the New Bridge, was finished in 1793. This is new here.
Much further down the hill, is the Old Bridge, Puente Viejo. This bridge is from the 16th century.
At the bottom of the hill, near the Arab Baths, is the Arab Bridge, also called the Roman Bridge (apparently for no particular reason). While there is evidence that a bridge was here in Roman times, this bridge is more recent, likely the 13th century or later.
Although it has been repaired many times, it is nevertheless, a bridge that is the better part of a thousand years old. On the way into town, our GPS gave us lots of bad advice and we drove across this bridge...twice (coming and going)!
