Shopping in Competa

After a trip to Competa to see the church, we made a return trip to do a little shopping. This is a small town but there are details, such as the wall above, that make this a special place.

The plaza in front of the church is a nice place to pause for a coffee or a bite to eat. Lots of English ex-pats here. When we were there, we heard more english than spanish.

Up the hill from the plaza are a few shops filled with fun things including the place next door the one in the image that sells leather goods. I went there to buy a new belt.

The leather store is owned by a young woman that makes everything herself. She had brought he 14 month old son in on the day we were there. Naturally, E was taken with the little one. It was hard not to notice the size difference between Seamus and this fellow.

After the fun and the exchange of money for goods, we headed back into plaza.

These small towns are filled with iconic views of whitewashed houses and gardens. All very relaxed and inviting.
